NTHS 2025 Course Description

The 2025 National Transgender Health Summit (NTHS) will present cutting edge research, evidence-based educational sessions, and training opportunities across many disciplines, with an emphasis on HIV. This landmark program will be our seventh NTHS, and we expect over 1,000 attendees. We have hosted Summits in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2023.

The 2025 NTHS will create sustainable networks for healthcare, mental health, policy makers, HIV prevention professionals, and other stakeholders to advance transgender health across health disciplines. We are building the Summit Program through a combination of peer-reviewed session abstracts and curated content selected by the track chairs and the planning committee. The program will provide a professional forum for the sharing of best practices, innovative techniques, and cutting-edge research.

The theme of the 2025 UCSF National Transgender Health Summit is Igniting Change: Activating Transgender Health and Healing Across the Lifespan.

Overview

The Transgender District and Lavender Rights Project are proud to present A Day of Advocacy and Healing at UCSF’s National Transgender Health Summit (NTHS) in San Francisco, California, taking place May 31 – June 1, 2025. As part of the Summit, we will also host a Pre-Summit gathering on May 30, bringing together 20-50 transgender and gender-expansive leaders from across the United States, with a particular focus on TGNC communities in the South.
This transformative convening will provide a deep dive into the current landscape of anti-trans legislation under the new executive administration. It will offer a space for leaders to strategize, organize, and build collective power against harmful policies and false narratives.
The gathering will center on two key components:

  1. A National Advocacy Summit – A platform for transgender and gender-expansive leaders to analyze and combat anti-trans legislation, with a special emphasis on states facing the most severe attacks on trans rights. Discussions will focus on policy solutions, legal strategies, and mobilization efforts to protect and empower our communities.
  2. Understanding the emotional and physical toll that advocacy can take, this space will be dedicated to holistic healing practices. It will offer a variety of wellness modalities, including health and wellness sessions, meditation, yoga, massage, and strategies to prevent burnout, ensuring that participants not only advocate but also heal and recharge in a supportive, restorative environment.

UCSF welcomes people with disabilities to our events. To request a reasonable accommodation for this event, please contact Philina Lim by emailing [email protected] with as much advance notice as possible.
